Rooted
Women

The Rooted Women series explores the complex relationship between women, nature, and resilience. Each piece features women with roots, vines, and natural elements growing from their bodies, symbolizing the deep connection between personal growth and the natural world. These intertwined elements represent both the nurturing and the suffocating aspects of life experiences, particularly trauma, and healing. This series is deeply personal, reflecting not only my journey of self-discovery and recovery from emotional abuse but also the shared experiences of countless women who have faced profound challenges. Through these works, I aim to give voice to the silent battles many women endure, depicting both their strength and vulnerability. The natural elements growing from the figures’ bodies illustrate how we are all shaped by our pasts, yet capable of new growth, transformation, and healing. Initially inspired by the stories of other women, the series has evolved into an exploration of my own struggles, a journey towards reclaiming my voice and identity. These works are a testament to the resilience required to break free from the invisible chains of emotional manipulation and trauma, and to the strength it takes to heal and move forward. Through this ongoing series, I hope to inspire others to see the beauty in their own scars and to embrace the potential for renewal and connection.
