Ink Works
The ink works are a record of immediacy... fast lines, sharp contrasts, and the rhythm of observation. Some drawings are quick encounters with the world around me: a dome rising over the city skyline, a man weaving through a narrow street with his motorbike, or a pair of hens mid-conversation. Others are playful meditations, like an owl tucked into its books or a fish wrapped in the day’s headlines. What unites these pieces is not subject matter but gesture. Ink has no room for hesitation. Every mark reveals the movement of the hand and the energy of the moment. The medium is both unforgiving and liberating: once the line is down, it cannot be taken back. That finality makes the drawings feel alive, capturing the humor, strangeness, and beauty of everyday encounters. The works range from still life to nature studies, from architectural sketches to imaginative vignettes. Together they form a collection of fragments... quick glimpses of a world in constant motion, rendered permanent through line.
